The 55 Central Park West romanticised the design of apartments in Manhattan. It was the very first to offer an Art-deco design that others were quick to mimic. The building achieved height due to the vertical design that it featured. The dark color started from the sidewalk to the base of the building and became lighter and lighter earth color until it reaches the summit. With more than forty earth hues to be found at the exterior of this building, it is a thing of wonder. The building was not modern or sophisticated but it was very honest and each unit had everything that the residents will need. Because of its style and characteristics, the building was chosen to be the set of the famous movie Ghostbusters – making it very famous and well-remembered throughout history.
